Two teenagers shot in tar­get­ted at­tack

TWO teenage boys were rushed to hospi­tal af­ter be­ing shot in a Bucks park at the week­end.

Nei­ther of the youths, aged 15 and 17, had life threat­en­ing in­juries, al­though the 15-year-old’s in­juries were said to be ‘se­ri­ous.’

The 17-year-old has leg in­juries.

Po­lice say they ar­rived at the scene of the sus­pected shoot­ing at 6.40pm on Sun­day af­ter re­ceiv­ing a re­port that two teenage boys had been as­saulted in park­land off Stomp Road, Burn­ham.

They dis­cov­ered

two in­jured youths with “in­juries be­lieved to have been caused by a dis­charged firearm”.

Both boys were taken by am­bu­lance to hospi­tal.

On Tues­day, po­lice ar­rested two 18-year-old men, one from Burn­ham and one from Slough, on sus­pi­cion of at­tempted mur­der.

Later on Tues­day, po­lice ar­rested a 24-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy, both from Burn­ham, on sus­pi­cion of at­tempted mur­der.

All four re­mained in po­lice cus­tody at the time of go­ing to press.

Det Insp Andy Wil­liams, from High Wy­combe Force CID , said: “De­tec­tives are cur­rently work­ing to es­tab­lish the cir­cum­stances of this se­ri­ous in­ci­dent and to iden­tify and lo­cate the of­fend­ers.

“I would like to speak to any­one who saw or heard any­thing in the park at around the time of the in­ci­dent, who has not al­ready spo­ken to po­lice, as they may have vi­tal in­for­ma­tion which could as­sist the in­ves­ti­ga­tion.

“Our ini­tial en­quiries in­di­cate this is not a ran­dom at­tack how­ever high vis­i­bil­ity pa­trols are tak­ing place in the vicin­ity of the in­ci­dent and in the neigh­bour­ing ar­eas.

“If you do have any con­cerns please feel free to ap­proach an of­fi­cer or call 101 to speak to a mem­ber of the neigh­bour­hood team.”
