Awards to honour the unsung heroes
Groups and individuals set for recognition at last
Nominations are now open for Chiltern District Council’s Community Awards 2016 – the chance to recognise the volunteers and community champions who do so much to enrich life in the area.
There are several award categories covering the young and old, individuals, groups, schools and businesses.
Chiltern District Council’s cabinet member for community, councillor Graham Harris, said: “Our communities benefit from a great many hardworking, dedicated and talented volunteers who quietly go about their business, selflessly helping others. This is a chance for those who reap the rewards of the few to say thank you, and to recognise the contribution those often unheralded volunteers make. There are eight categories to choose from and it’s never been easier to nominate.
“This is the chance to ensure all the good deeds we can so easily take for granted are rewarded.”
The closing date for nominations is Friday, February 13 with the award ceremony being held on Thursday, March 17. To vote online visit www. c hi l t e r n. g ov. uk/ communityawards.
Alternatively, printed forms can be picked up from Chiltern District Council’s main reception in King George V Road, Amersham, local libraries and leisure centres.
