Barbara Poole has started Voices and Choices in Amersham, a new organisation set up to support people living alone.
Mrs Poole said: “We want to recruit people who can go out and visit people living alone – we want to sign post and help people to solve probelms.
“Our prime function is to talk to people and find out what is important to them and how we can help them.”
