Bar­bara Poole has started Voices and Choices in Amer­sham, a new or­gan­i­sa­tion set up to sup­port peo­ple liv­ing alone.

Mrs Poole said: “We want to re­cruit peo­ple who can go out and visit peo­ple liv­ing alone – we want to sign post and help peo­ple to solve pro­belms.

“Our prime func­tion is to talk to peo­ple and find out what is im­por­tant to them and how we can help them.”
