Writers continue with their train of thought
Group hoping for success to rival their award-winning first anthology
The Amersham-based authors from the group, Just Write, will launch ‘Delayed Reaction’ today, Thursday, November 19 in Cafe Africa, Amersham.
One of the writers, Liz Losty, said: “Our first book – Spilling the Beans – won the Writing Magazine 2014 award for Best Anthology and our successful run of sales enabled us to donate £1,000 to the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.
“Spurred on by this success we decided to release a second book of short stories – but with a different set of characters and circumstances, the only thing they have in common is that they are all trapped on a delayed train – so Delayed Reaction was born.”
As with the group’s first book, Spilling the Beans, there are 10 stories that are complete and stand alone.
However when the stories are read as part of the collection, the reader discovers more about each of the characters, their lives and their complex layers. For each of them this will be a life changing journey but for very different reasons. Sales of the new book, Delayed Reaction, will also raise money for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.
