Malcolm eager for another Vase run

Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - SPORT -

But the Heathens will have to show vast improvements on last Saturday’s 3-2 defeat at Abingdon Town if they are to embark on another Vase run.

Flackwell found themselves 3-0 down and late goals from Joe Blount and Danny Burnell were not enough to prevent a loss which saw them slip to third in the Hellenic Premier.

Malcolm said: “It was one to forget, and the first time in my two-and-ahalf year tenure that we have not played as a team. We got a couple of goals back, but we didn’t deserve anything from it.

“However, it was only our fourth league defeat out of 58 over the past two years, which isn’t a bad run.”

Elsewhere in the Hellenic League, Division One East leaders Penn & Tylers Green were not in action, but their reserves stayed top of Division Two East with a 7-1 hammering of Holyport reserves, in which Andy Parry and Owen Page both hit hattricks. The firsts host Chalfont Wasps in a derby this Saturday.
