Walkwood walkers make a date for 2016
People who walk their pets in the Walkwood area of Beaconsfield came up with the idea and have now put together a calendar featuring the group and their dogs.
The calendar includes the names of the various pets, with several different dogs featured each month.
The walkers are now selling copies of the calendar, with all proceeds being donated to the Stokenchurch Dog Rescue.
Sue Lemon, a member of the group, said: “The dog walking community in Walkwood has really grown over the last year or so.
“We meet new members all the time. Last year, we had a Christmas meal together which we communicated by attaching posters to trees in the area where we all walk our dogs, and we’ve even set up our own Facebook page.
“We meet up with our dogs, take them for a walk and have a chat, and it’s become a real community.”
She added: “Earlier this year, we were chatting and thought it would be a good idea to produce a calendar. We already had quite a few pictures of our dogs on the Facebook page and we made some further requests for anyone who wanted to be included by again posting notices on trees.
“We had a good response and we soon managed to get the pictures together into a calendar which we’re all really pleased with.
“The finished product contains pictures of 52 dogs which are selling for £10 each. All the profits are going to Stokenchurch Dog Rescue Centre, so we’re hoping to raise as much money as we can.”
The calendar is now complete and available to buy. If you would like to purchase one email Sue at walkwoodwoods@yahoo. co.uk.
