A village first? A tree for Seer green
FOR the first time, villagers believe, Seer Green is to have a village Christmas Tree this year.
A tree has been donated and the Parish Council has given the village money to purchase the lights, which will be switched on at a special ceremony on Tuesday, December 1 at around 6pm.
The village is also launching it's Advent Calendar on the night. Certain houses in each road in Seer Green will display their Christmas decorations outside from a certain day in December.
There will be a map to follow each day, so villagers can ‘open' their calendar every day.
To celebrate the Christmas Tree, the village has planned an evening of festive fun for the lights switch on.
There will be festive stalls, festive food and festive music/carols singing/kids crafts on the Green, outside the shops.
Rebecca's Deli will be open serving hot drinks and cakes, and it is hoped the pubs will do special price children's teas prior to the event as well as mulled wine and mince pies.
Seer Green Gardeners will also be presenting a cheque to the Scouts Venture Hall Fund, from their year of fundraising.
Funds from the Seer Green Village Christmas event will be donated to The Seer Green Venture Hall
