Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - SPORT -

ANGUS Williams and Will Perkin claimed individual gold as Chiltern Harriers continued their good cross country season at the Berks, Bucks and Oxon Championships on Saturday.

Williams’ latest success at U13 level proved the foundation stone for Harriers’ boys to take gold in this age group. Thomas Job also made the individual rostrum in third, just ahead of club-mate Tom Hunter in fourth.

To cap a great day for the U13 boys, the B squad took team bronze thanks to Alex Aldred in sixth, Zach Rahaman (13th) and Matt Clifford (16th).

The second Chiltern win of the day came in the U17 men’s race where Perkin prevailed in a sprint finish. With Richard Slade in eighth and Thomas Rayner in 10th, it was enough for Harriers to take team silver in this event. The B team of Will Brown (11th), Rob Hall (14th) and David Thomas (15th) were fourth.

The U17 women also came home clutching bronze medals for the team event. Rachel Padwick led the charge, finishing sixth with Orla Fawcett not far behind in eighth and Jess Orr completing the trip of scorers in 12th.

Elsewhere, Robyn Watkins and the team as a whole just missed out on an individual medal in the U15 girls race, finishing fourth and the U15 A boys team also narrowly missed the medals in fifth.

James Repper was first Harrier home in the 106-strong senior men’s event, where he came 40th.
