It takes a whole school...

GERRARDS Cross PrePrep kids performed a whole department dress rehearsal of a multicultural musical nativity recently.

School chiefs said it is the first time in a long time a nativity involving all children from year two to nursery has been performed, as usually there have been separate EYFC and KS1 productions.

The nativity, called ‘It takes a village to raise a child’ was written by Sheila Wilson.

The boys have really enjoyed the challenge of learning their lines, songs and cues, teachers said.

Year two teacher Karen Mercer said: “The way the nativity is told this year through the musical ‘It takes a village to raise a child’ reflects the way in which we’ve put the production together; it’s taken the whole of Pre-Prep to make it the success it is.

“Every boy has worked extremely hard from nursery to year two, as has every member of the PrePrep staff, and our parents who with the help of Mrs Vos have created some wonderful costumes for the younger boys.

“Without the combined efforts of everyone at PrePrep, a performance like this just wouldn’t have been possible.”
