TEAM EFFORT FOR SCIENCE FANS
PUPILS from a Chesham school are celebrating after coming second in a science competition.
On November 20 Chesham Prep School, in Two Dells Lane, Orchard Leigh, hosted a heat for the National Science Quiz Club for year five and six pupils. The heat was attended by teams from local prep schools, plus two teams from Chesham Prep School.
The quiz consisted of 40 science based questions in which each team had to answer with remote hand held devices.
Many areas were covered including the Universe, inventions, chemistry, zoology and more. Judy Hubbard from the school said: “The quiz was lots of fun and extremely tense at times, with the top three places constantly changing throughout the challenge. Very well done to all the CPS pupils who took part.”
Eventually one of the Chesham Prep School teams came second, only 10 points behind the winning team.
The school is waiting to hear if that team has qualified for a place in the semi-final competition.
Pupils from Chesham Prep School who took part were Jack Heginbottom, Charlie Whitby, Lina Gamil, Katie Williams, Oliver Murray, George Hill, Barney Budden and Elly White.
