PUPILS from a Che­sham school are cel­e­brat­ing af­ter com­ing sec­ond in a science com­pe­ti­tion.

On Novem­ber 20 Che­sham Prep School, in Two Dells Lane, Or­chard Leigh, hosted a heat for the Na­tional Science Quiz Club for year five and six pupils. The heat was at­tended by teams from lo­cal prep schools, plus two teams from Che­sham Prep School.

The quiz con­sisted of 40 science based ques­tions in which each team had to an­swer with re­mote hand held de­vices.

Many ar­eas were cov­ered in­clud­ing the Uni­verse, in­ven­tions, chem­istry, zo­ol­ogy and more. Judy Hubbard from the school said: “The quiz was lots of fun and ex­tremely tense at times, with the top three places con­stantly chang­ing through­out the chal­lenge. Very well done to all the CPS pupils who took part.”

Even­tu­ally one of the Che­sham Prep School teams came sec­ond, only 10 points be­hind the win­ning team.

The school is wait­ing to hear if that team has qual­i­fied for a place in the semi-fi­nal com­pe­ti­tion.

Pupils from Che­sham Prep School who took part were Jack Hegin­bot­tom, Char­lie Whitby, Lina Gamil, Katie Wil­liams, Oliver Mur­ray, Ge­orge Hill, Bar­ney Bud­den and Elly White.
