IT WAS free week in the Su­per Sin­gles Darts League at Marsh Le­gion, al­low­ing play­ers to catch up on un­played matches and Steve McLeod took full ad­van­tage.

He moved to the top of the league with a 6-4 win over an ever-im­prov­ing Mark Luck­ett, go­ing one point clear of Dan Franzen and also re­main­ing un­beaten.

Rob Br­ere­ton kept his sea­son mov­ing for­ward with a 7-3 win over Mick Carl­ton, which moved him up to sev­enth spot, while Carl­ton re­cov­ered with an 8-2 vic­tory over Marc Del­lar, which in­cluded a 180 and a 104 out­shot.

Also play­ing twice on the night was Steven Vaughan, who has missed the early part of the sea­son but is now back on track and sits in 12th place. He first saw off Si­mon White 7-3, de­spite his op­po­nent hit­ting two 180s, be­fore fol­low­ing that up with a hard fought 6-4 win over Trevor Br­ere­ton.

Mean­while, Wy­combe Marsh Le­gion won their first game of the sea­son in the Wy­combe & Amer­sham Darts Club League as they got the bet­ter of Bourne End CC 9-5.

A qual­ity match be­tween Holmer Green Le­gion A and Ha­zle­mere CC saw 180s from both Dave Farthing (Holmer Green) and Her­bie Mar­shall (Ha­zle­mere), and it was Holmer Green who emerged as the win­ners 9-5.

The Phoenix Club have set­tled into their new venue well, an­other im­pres­sive win over a gal­lant Holmer Green Le­gion B in­clud­ing two 180s from Gary Pet­ford and one from Brian Ais­la­bie. Liam Burgess also hit an out­shot of 106 as Phoenix won 10-4.

River­side Club were the big win­ners of the week, ham­mer­ing Cres­sex CC E 12-2 to stay third, while lead­ers Penn & Tyler’s Green SC were not at their best but were still to strong for Cres­sex CC C, Ja­son Hine’s 180 eas­ing the way to an 11-3 win.
