Teamwork, passion and care celebrated
DEDICATED Ambulance staff were recognised at an annual awards ceremony held in Bucks.
At a black tie event at Pinewood Studios, in Iver, the annual AMBIES were held on Friday, November 27 to recognise and celebrate the amazing efforts and dedication of staff at South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SCAS).
The AMBIES are the Trust’s annual staff awards and showcase the very best examples of dedication, commitment and care.
This year’s event was opened by SCAS Chief Executive, Will Hancock, who said: “The AMBIES never fail to impress me. I keep thinking that we can’t possibly better the teamwork, innovation, professionalism and care that was celebrated last year and every year I am proved wrong. It’s quite humbling, and a great source of personal pride, to lead an organisation where people care so passionately about their job, their colleagues and the patients they look after.”
Pam Warren, the famous ‘Lady in the Mask’, who survived the Paddington Train crash in October 1999, was the guest of honour and gave a moving speech on the incredible work carried out by the ambulance service, before announcing the night’s winners.
Commenting on the event and having congratulated all the winners and nominees on the night, SCAS Chairman Trevor Jones said: “This year’s winners are a truly inspirational bunch. We had 168 nominations for the 12 awards which is a record number and speaks volumes about the quality of people who work across all parts of SCAS.
“It’s been a real privilege to celebrate the achievements of everyone across the organisation at this year’s AMBIES.”
