SMALL BUSINESS DAY A HUGE SUCCESS
SHOPPERS flocked to Little Chalfont at the weekend to support the local businesses as part of a national campaign.
Shops in Little Chalfont had a very successful Small Business Saturday with several of them having their best ever sales.
Manager of Deborah's Beauty Boutique Jess said: “This year is even better than the last! Lots of people through the door and lots of Christmas spirit all round.”
Shahin's Indian Restaurant said: “We more than doubled the business over last year.”
Owner of The Craft Beer Shop Mick French said: “This was our first Small Business Saturday and it's generated lots of excitement.”
Tom Robertson of Robertson Butchers said: “We were delighted with our business but there again we were selling a product which was exceptional value.”
Peter Burgess from the Little Chalfont Community Association, who coordinated the event, said: “This was the third year that we have held this and it improves every year. Over 30 of Little Chalfont's shops and businesses took part. Chiltern District Council really helped to promote the event with the production of banners and posters. In addition, thanks to volunteers, we were able to distribute details of the shops' offers to every house in the parish – about 3,000 households. The message of ‘Shop Local' is really beginning to get through.”
