Lantern pa­rade, late night shop­ping, laser lights and Fa­ther Christ­mas

THOU­SANDS of peo­ple de­scended on Bea­cons­field as the town held its an­nual Fes­ti­val of Lights.

The Christ­mas event took place on Wed­nes­day, De­cem­ber 9 an and at­tracted m more than 5,0 5,000 peo­ple wh who en­joyed late night sh shop­ping, a fun fa fair, mu­si­cal pe per­for­mances, ava visit from Fa Fa­ther Ch Christ­mas and ala laser light sh show.

There was also a lantern pro­ces­sion through the streets of Bea­cons­field with more than 300 chil­dren from the town’s schools tak­ing part.

The event is or­gan­ised by the Bea­cons­field Ro­tary Club and is spon­sored by a va­ri­ety of the town’s busi­nesses, with money raised go­ing to dif­fer­ent lo­cal good causes.

In re­cent years, groups to have ben­e­fit­ted from the Bea­cons­field Fes­ti­val of Lights have in­cluded the Alzheimer’s So­ci­ety, the South Bucks Hospice and St John Am­bu­lance.

The amount raised from this year’s event has not yet been an­nounced and is set to be an­nounced at a later date.
