BEACONSFIELD LANTERN PARADE
Lantern parade, late night shopping, laser lights and Father Christmas
THOUSANDS of people descended on Beaconsfield as the town held its annual Festival of Lights.
The Christmas event took place on Wednesday, December 9 an and attracted m more than 5,0 5,000 people wh who enjoyed late night sh shopping, a fun fa fair, musical pe performances, ava visit from Fa Father Ch Christmas and ala laser light sh show.
There was also a lantern procession through the streets of Beaconsfield with more than 300 children from the town’s schools taking part.
The event is organised by the Beaconsfield Rotary Club and is sponsored by a variety of the town’s businesses, with money raised going to different local good causes.
In recent years, groups to have benefitted from the Beaconsfield Festival of Lights have included the Alzheimer’s Society, the South Bucks Hospice and St John Ambulance.
The amount raised from this year’s event has not yet been announced and is set to be announced at a later date.
