Leader’s stamp of approval

Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - NEWS -

THE LEADER of Bucks County Council (BCC) delivered some festive cheer to postal workers recently in a move which took him back to his own student days.

Councillor Martin Tett visited Royal Mail’s Amersham delivery office during their busiest time of the year and hailed the ‘good humour and dedication’ of the staff.

He was shown around the office by delivery office manager James Bailey and introduced to the postmen and women who are sorting and delivering mail in the Amersham area during the festive season.

Mr Tett said: “It’s a long time since I was a student and used to do the Christmas post delivery every year.

“Things have changed a lot but it was good to see the humour and dedication of the staff is as strong as ever.”

Mr Bailey said: “Our postmen and women are working extremely hard to deliver Christmas cards, letters and parcels to people across Amersham. We are grateful that the leader visited the office to see our operation and to support the team.

“We’d like to remind our customers to post early so that friends and family have longer to enjoy their Christmas greetings.

“We would also like to ask everyone to please always use the postcode as this helps us greatly in the job that we do at this busy time.
