Children in Years five and six performed ‘The Yellow Feather’, a musical production written by retired music advisor Paul Smith.

Directed and produced by headteacher Elizabeth Underwood, their unique show was set in Wonderland and told the story of the quest of two princes to determine which will succeed their father as King.

As 180 children took to the stage, the singing raised the roof and audiences packed the hall during a eight performances over two weeks.

Mr Smith, retired music adviser for the county and composer of the show’s music and songs, said: “It was magnificent –the children sang their hearts out and yet again the school has achieved a triumph.”

Mrs Underwood said: “I am so proud of the children; they work so hard to achieve such fantastic results in such a short timescale. They have brought the standard to a new level. Well done.”
