Stunt woman re­veals she will lose arm af­ter accident

Olivia Jackson, 32, from Amer­sham, crashed into a metal cam­era arm while shoot­ing a high-speed mo­tor­bike chase in Septem­ber. She was put in an in­duced coma with head in­juries and a punc­tured lung.

Olivia was film­ing for forth­com­ing sci-fi movie Res­i­dent Evil: The Fi­nal Chap­ter in South Africa at the time.

Now, it has been re­vealed she will have her left arm amputated.

Ac­cord­ing to The Sun, she said: “My left arm is paral­ysed and is go­ing to have to be amputated.

“My fa­cial scar­ring is hor­ri­ble and I wish I had my old face. But I’m truly grate­ful to be alive.”

Olivia was a stunt dou­ble for Char­l­ize Theron and Rosie Hunt­ing­tonWhite­ley in this year’s box of­fice hit Mad Max: Fury Road, Karen Gil­lan’s dou­ble in Guardians of the Galaxy, and Gwyneth Pal­trow’s in Mortdecai.

In Septem­ber her Bri­tish hus­band David Grant, 36, who is also a stunt man, rushed out to South Africa to be by her side.

He wrote on Face­book: “I want you all to know that she has been making steady progress and your thoughts and good vibes are all work­ing so please keep them up!

“She’s my in­spi­ra­tion and my world. She’s fight­ing hard and the team of peo­ple work­ing on Olivia have been amaz­ing and have been do­ing some in­cred­i­ble work.

“I whis­per to her ev­ery­day telling her about the sup­port she’s get­ting world­wide!”

Ac­cord­ing to her IMDB page, South African-born Olivia has been work­ing as a stunt­woman since 2011.
