Stunt woman reveals she will lose arm after accident
Olivia Jackson, 32, from Amersham, crashed into a metal camera arm while shooting a high-speed motorbike chase in September. She was put in an induced coma with head injuries and a punctured lung.
Olivia was filming for forthcoming sci-fi movie Resident Evil: The Final Chapter in South Africa at the time.
Now, it has been revealed she will have her left arm amputated.
According to The Sun, she said: “My left arm is paralysed and is going to have to be amputated.
“My facial scarring is horrible and I wish I had my old face. But I’m truly grateful to be alive.”
Olivia was a stunt double for Charlize Theron and Rosie HuntingtonWhiteley in this year’s box office hit Mad Max: Fury Road, Karen Gillan’s double in Guardians of the Galaxy, and Gwyneth Paltrow’s in Mortdecai.
In September her British husband David Grant, 36, who is also a stunt man, rushed out to South Africa to be by her side.
He wrote on Facebook: “I want you all to know that she has been making steady progress and your thoughts and good vibes are all working so please keep them up!
“She’s my inspiration and my world. She’s fighting hard and the team of people working on Olivia have been amazing and have been doing some incredible work.
“I whisper to her everyday telling her about the support she’s getting worldwide!”
According to her IMDB page, South African-born Olivia has been working as a stuntwoman since 2011.
