“But we don’t pay our play­ers and some would rather sit on the bench at teams in the level above than drop down and ac­tu­ally play some foot­ball.”

In Di­vi­sion One, Jay Caines was on the mark as Che­sham United Re­serves beat Ampthill Town 2-1 on Mon­day to stay third and keep up the pres­sure on the top two. They visit Winslow United on Satur­day and host Big­gleswade United on Wed­nes­day night.

In the Premier, Dean Allen struck the only goal of the game for Holmer Green at Lev­er­stock Green on Mon­day. They host Berkham­sted on Satur­day.
