Viney’s break­ing more bound­aries in foot­ball

HE is used to smash­ing sixes for Amer­sham CC in the sum­mer – but Andy Viney made do with a five-fer on Sun­day.

Dur­ing the win­ter months, Viney swaps his bat and hel­met for foot­ball boots, play­ing for Pi­o­neer in the Che­sham Sun­day League,ague, where he proves just as deadly hit­ting goals ass bound­aries.

His five-goal haul on Sun­day, com­pli­mented by strikes from Paul Gil­bert and JP Jamil, earned Pi­o­neer a 7-3 Che­sham Char­ity Cup win over Chal­font Saints, de­spite replieses from Al­fie Cum­ber, Le­wisewis Cum­ber and Tom Kaill.

There were also cup wins for El­do­rado and Che­sham Ath­letic (Black Cat), who beat Pi­o­neer Re­serves and Mag­pies 91 re­spec­tively in the Al­lan Moore Cup group stages.

plus fur­ther strikes from Dar­rel Cooper and Greg Mills, saw El­do­rado edge a thrilling tie 5-4, while Dan Gif­ford scored the only goal of a much qui­eter game to seal it for Ath­letic.

Mean­while, Old Bel­mont Pugilists and Queens Head played out the day day’s s on­lyon league en­counter, which saw the hosts stren strengthen their grip on Div Divi­sion One’s top spot, bu but only with a sin­gle p point as Ge­orge King net­ted for the Pugilists, but Tay­lor Baines earned Queens a share of the spoils.
