Viney’s breaking more boundaries in football
HE is used to smashing sixes for Amersham CC in the summer – but Andy Viney made do with a five-fer on Sunday.
During the winter months, Viney swaps his bat and helmet for football boots, playing for Pioneer in the Chesham Sunday League,ague, where he proves just as deadly hitting goals ass boundaries.
His five-goal haul on Sunday, complimented by strikes from Paul Gilbert and JP Jamil, earned Pioneer a 7-3 Chesham Charity Cup win over Chalfont Saints, despite replieses from Alfie Cumber, Lewisewis Cumber and Tom Kaill.
There were also cup wins for Eldorado and Chesham Athletic (Black Cat), who beat Pioneer Reserves and Magpies 91 respectively in the Allan Moore Cup group stages.

plus further strikes from Darrel Cooper and Greg Mills, saw Eldorado edge a thrilling tie 5-4, while Dan Gifford scored the only goal of a much quieter game to seal it for Athletic.
Meanwhile, Old Belmont Pugilists and Queens Head played out the day day’s s onlyon league encounter, which saw the hosts stren strengthen their grip on Div Division One’s top spot, bu but only with a single p point as George King netted for the Pugilists, but Taylor Baines earned Queens a share of the spoils.
