Mean­while, the club’s ladies, who re­turned from their own win­ter break last week with a 8-0 thrash­ing of Ox­ford Univer­sity Ladies 2s, were in the mood for more goals as they beat Ox­ford Hawks Ladies 3s 5-0.

The goals were shared around be­tween Alice Keddy, Cathy Hol­lies, Freya Cour­taux, Lissy Humphris and Kate Wooldridge, with some fine saves at the other end from Emma Cross.

They have now taken se­cond spot out­right and are six points ahead of third-placed Son­ning Ladies, and the same amount be­hind lead­ers Read­ing Ladies 2s, with a game in hand.

The ladies visit Wy­combe Ladies 2s this Satur­day.
