ACTOR JOINS THE SCANNAPPEAL TEAM
BUCKS charity Scannappeal has appointed the acclaimed actor Robert Lindsay as its principal patron.
Mr Lindsay, who has lived in Denham for more than 21 years, is taking on the role with Scannappeal, a charity which provides cutting edge equipment for the county’s NHS hospitals.
This year, all of Scannappeal’s four major fundraising appeals are reaching their conclusions and the charity is also launching three new appeals over the coming months which will help even more NHS patients in the county to receive more effective treatment and diagnosis.
This is the first time that Mr Lindsay, star of My Family and Citizen Smith, has worked with Scannappeal. He said: “As a Buckinghamshire resident, I’ve witnessed first-hand the fantastic outcomes that Scannappeal helps our local NHS to deliver.
“And as someone who is a passionate believer in our NHS, the opportunity to really make a difference and help our local community receive an even better service when they need it was simply a pull I could not resist.”
William Baxter, chairman of Scannappeal, said: “We’re thrilled to have Robert join our team at Scannappeal and we’re looking forward to a long and rewarding partnership with him. We’re continuing to take great strides forward in helping our local NHS hospitals become centres of excellence and deliver world class services. Having Robert on board is simply going to help us achieve even more.”
