A great excuse to get dressed up
Mums organise charity Spring Ball to raise funds for Hospice of St Francis
The Hospice of St Francis will host a spring ball at the Royal Air Force Museum in Hendon on May 14.
A champagne reception will be followed by a three course meal served beneath the wings of the museum’s iconic Lancaster Bomber.
Nigel Barden, food and drink critic for BBC Radio 2, will be the compere for the evening and live music will play until late into the night.
An auction will offer an impressive selection of fabulous, unique and quirky prizes to suit all tastes.
The Spring Ball is being organised by a committee of eight mums who live near the hospice.
They have supported the hospice in different ways including volunteering and participating in October’s Mud Pack Challenge, and have now come together to organise the high-end event.
The inaugural Spring Ball in 2014 raised £65,000 and is so named to raise awareness of the hospice’s Spring Centre, a health and wellbeing hub offering groups, courses and therapy to help people with life-limiting illnesses to live well, remain independent and maintain their quality of life.
provides physiotherapy, fitness groups, and emotional and practical support for people who have recovered from potentially lifelimiting illnesses.
Additionally, The Spring Centre offers a wealth of support for families, loved ones and carers.
Chairman of the Spring Ball Committee Anna Loder said: “We were blown away by the support were received for our first ball from local businesses and from people in the community keen to help such a great cause. We all had a fantastic time and now we’re working hard to make this year’s ball even more memorable. There is no better excuse to get dressed up, gather up your friends and join us at this iconic venue for what promises to be a special evening.”
Festivities will start at 7.30pm at RAF Museum Hendon. The museum is in Grahame Park Way, London. It is situated at Colindale Underground on the Edgware branch of the Northern Line.
Tickets for the event cost £100 per person and can be purchased by emailing email@example.com.
