Superbike star Gilbert’s sharp after going under the knife
Arm pump affliction hampers bikers’ use of both brake and throttle, but operation was successful
with any team as options are available.
He added: “I’m really looking forward to racing again this year, aboard either a Kawasaki or a Yamaha, it all depends on which route we go down.
“Last year had it ups and downs, including some high speed crashes, like the one I had at Thruxton where I got taken out at around 110mph, but luckily I only put a hole in my elbow.
“I had a good year, maybe not as good as I would have liked, but you
although just have to do the best you can with what you have.
“I really want to be in the top six at every round this year and get some podiums. I hopefully will be on a bike that is capable of doing that and I know with my arms now sorted out I can achieve this.”
With personal costs of between £25,000 to £50,000 to compete each year, Gilbert already enjoys backing from the likes of Bell, Knox and Daytona, but is always looking for new sponsors. Anyone interested can call Keith Gilbert on 07855 770 507.
