Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - NEWS -

UNLUCKY mountain bike racer Zoe Allsop was denied a potential win at the Gorrick Spring Series when her cycle got a puncture on the last lap on Sunday.

Allsop riding in the adult female category at Crowthorne Woods, maintained second place throughout the first two laps but dropped to third following the incident. But the Summit MTB rider, from Hyde Heath, still grabbed a podium place and was pleased with her time, which saw her win her age category.

Her daughter Lucy, 10, rode strongly in the U11 girls race Lucy Allsop to take first place in a time that also had her placed sixth amongst the U11 boys too.

She was followed in by fellow Summit MTB rider Ben Donald, nine, while the U13s race saw 12-year-old William Shield, from Amersham, take third place in a highly competitive class.

The next round March 13.
