Tesco armed raid
ARMED robbers raided a Tesco Express store in Farnham Common on Valentine’s Day.
At about 8.30pm on Sunday, February 14, three masked offenders walked into the shop in Beaconsfield Road.
One of the group was carrying a carving knife and jumped over the counter, ordering staff to open the cash drawer, while another offender told customers to get away from the till area and helped to empty cash from it into a bag.
The third member of the gang remained at the store entrance, propping open a door ready for the others to leave.
As well as cash, the gang stole alcohol and cigarettes before making off on foot southwards along the Beaconsfield Road.
All of the group had their faces covered. One was white and wore dark tracksuit bottoms and a dark hooded top with red on the chest area.
DS Tracey Benham of Thames Valley Police said: “This robbery took place while customers were in the store and we are very keen to speak to them and anyone else who may have information about this incident.
“This was a very frightening experience for both them and the two members of staff who were in the store. Fortunately, no-one was injured.”
Anyone who saw anything is asked to contact Thames Valley Police Enquiry Centre on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
