Youngsters put their art into painting
As part of the school’s Art Week, Mr Priestley spent the morning with the junior school on February 9 teaching them all about the intricacies of his work.
Among many new skills, children learnt how to draw portraits from the front and side and then to combine them to create an artist ‘mash up’. In the afternoon they returned to their classrooms to put into practise what they had learnt.
children created Picasso style paper plate collages and the older ones honed their drawing skills and went on to create painted final pieces.
Mrs Terrar, junior school head, said: “Paul has been a fantastic motivator and teacher for the children. I think the children have surprised themselves with the work they have produced using their new skills.”
