“We’re top of the league, so we can move onto our cup games and we should be top for a week or so. It keeps the league wide open, but our run-in is tougher than any of them, which is why people are saying we can’t win it.

“The run in is tough, but I said to the boys we’re top, we play Bracknell Saturday week, and if we can win that there’s 10 left and it’s really on.”

Before that, Flackwell visit Longlevens – the last team to beat them back in midDecember – in the Challenge Cup this Saturday before taking on Aylesbury Dynamos in the Wycombe Senior Cup three days later.

Burnell and Dan Rapley shared the goals against Thatcham, while Liam Tack bagged both against Binfield as the Heathens made it seven straight wins and 12 out of their last 13 games.

Elsewhere in the Hellenic, Penn & Tyler Green were knocked off the top of Divison One East and replaced by Bicester Town after going down 1-0 at their title rivals, while Chalfont Wasps went down 6-3 to Ardley United in the League Cup. Wasps host Penn in a derby clash this Saturday.
