Pol­litt poules no punches win­ning cov­eted U14 ti­tle

Rhys Pol­litt puts his suc­cess down to top qual­ity club coach­ing at Fencers Club Lon­don, as well as ex­tra gym train­ing at school, with the sup­port of the PE depart­ment and the GLL Sports Foun­da­tion.

He said: “With all the first-class sup­port and en­cour­age­ment I get from my coaches and my school, I can con­sis­tently aim to achieve good re­sults.”

De­spite hav­ing only turned 13 last week, Rhys Pol­litt tops the U15 Boys Foil Eng­land Rank­ings ta­ble, a po­si­tion that reg­u­larly sees him gain se­lec­tion for for­eign events.

The Va­lerie De­gorce tro­phy was an in­te­gral as­pect of his com­pe­ti­tion plan, form­ing part of a new U14 Euro­pean Cir­cuit. Next, he will travel to Poland to com­pete at the Chal­lenge Wratislavia, then back to the UK for the Bri­tish Youth Cham­pi­onships.
