DOUG MEETS THE PUG-LIC
LEGENDARY therapy dog, Doug the Pug, visited the Gerrards Cross Bookshop, Packhorse Road, on Saturday.
Around 60 people petted, patted and talked to him with his owner, Cate Archer, as he paw printed copies of his new book book, Doug the Pug – A Working Dog’s Tale.
All royalties from the book will go to the charity Pets As Therapy.
One of the owners of the shop, Martin McKean, said: “It was briliant. Cate brought her lovely Doug the Pug and she managed to attract a good audience of people who knew of her, knew her work, knew the dog and who were just generally interested in the work that she does. It was a good event and it pulled a lot of people in.”
He added: “Everyone wanted their photos taken with him and were talking to him - they were obviously dog lovers.”
Mr McKean was full of praise for dog, as he was ‘really patient’ and sat there enjoying the attention. “People were really warm and really affectionate,” he added.
