Mu­seum’s 25 years

AMER­SHAM Mu­seum will be cel­e­brat­ing its 25th an­niver­sary this month, and is en­cour­ag­ing peo­ple to go along and see what it has to of­fer.

The mu­seum re-opened for the new sea­son on March 3, and will be hold­ing a spe­cial ex­hi­bi­tion telling how the mu­seum has de­vel­oped over the years.

The ex­hi­bi­tion will in­clude de­tailed pho­to­graphs about the restora­tion of the mu­seum’s me­dieval hall house, and a spe­cial dis­play show­cas­ing the his­tory of Amer­sham in 25 ob­jects. There will also be in­ter­ac­tive ac­tiv­i­ties in­clud­ing feely bags which will al­low peo­ple to guess the ob­ject, and vis­i­tors can choose to vote for an ob­ject that rep­re­sents life in Amer­sham to­day.

For 2016, the mu­seum will be open on Thurs­days, Fri­days, Satur­days, Sun­days and Bank Hol­i­day Mon­days.

Nor­mal open­ing hours are 2pm to 4.30pm, with Satur­days 10am to 4.30pm, and free en­try for un­der 16s. Adult ad­mis­sion is held at the 2015 rate of £2.50
