Children get a free chance at activities

Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - NEWS -

THE search is on in Bucks to get as many children as possible involved in new activities for free.

Children of all ages, from all walks of life, are being invited to apply for a place with the Kallikids Sponsored Child initiative.

There are seven places up for grabs in Bucks, in activities ranging from swimming and music to martial arts.

If successful, the youngsters will get to take part in one of the activities for free for a year, and across the UK more than 160 youngsters will be sponsored.

The scheme is being backed by Julie Pullin, former ladies’ tennis British number one, who said: “All children deserve the opportunity, regardless of circumstance, economic or social status, to learn new skills. I have joined the Kallikids Sponsored Child initiative as together we want to give as many youngsters as possible more opportunities.

“Trying new skills while you are young is vital. These skills help build both physical and social confidence as youngsters move into adulthood.”

The providers offering sponsorship places in Bucks include Kiddleydivey, in Gerrards Cross, Sing and Sign, in Aylesbury, and Ragdolly Anna’s, in Milton Keynes.
