Chiltern Hills painting up for auction
A PAINTING of the Chiltern Hills will be auctioned off to the highest bidder in aid of charity this month.
A painting by Brian Bennett, one of the best-known living painters of the Chilterns, has been donated to Rennie Grove Hospice Care to auction off.
The painting – which captures the beautiful hues of the Chilterns’ countryside in swathes of golden corn tapering into vibrant hedgerows and a patchwork of fields under a blue, cloudstudded sky – will be available to see by appointment at the Hawker Gallery in Amersham throughout March.
The painting size is 16” x 22” and with the frame is 22” x 28”.
Brian Bennett is essentially a landscape painter and the woods and waterways of the Chiltern Hills, where he lives, are the subject of a great deal of his work.
His distinctive method of painting in oils with a painting knife has seen his collection of work exhibited all over the world which include the Royal Academy and the Royal Society of British Artists.
The painting has a reserve price of £900.
People can bid throughout March by emailing community@ renniegrove.org or calling on 01442 820 718.
