Baiarda gives Town two-year target for Spartan promotion
Boss is hoping to attract Premier Division players currently warming benches at their clubs
to the physicality and performing well.
“In fact, we have been performing better than on Saturday in games where we haven’t been getting the results, but haven’t got the rub of the green. We’re getting there, but there is a lot more to come and next season will be a better one.”
Two new signings, centre back Steve Wood and striker Matt Lee, made an instant impact against Grendon, both netting within the opening six minutes. Alvin Walters and Harry Loakes also scored, while Kieran Knight bagged a brace.
In Division One, Chesham United Reserves moved up to second by beating Woodford Town 4-0 (Callum Woodcock 2, Jack Harris, Che Kin To) and Hatfield Town 2-1, but Holmer Green slipped to ninth in the Premier after losing 3-1 at Welwyn Garden City, despite a Dean Allen strike.
Over in the Hellenic League, two goals from Danny Burnell and one from Dylan Kearney kept Flackwell Heath in contention for the Premier Division title with a 3-1 win over Longlevens, while an Adam Harman double and a Dean Munday strike saw Penn & Tylers Green beat Woodley United 3-0 in Division One East, where Chalfont Wasps also had a season’s best 7-3 win over Didcot Town Reserves.
