Housebuilder encouraging villagers to share memories
HOUSEBUILDER firm McCarthy and Stone has launched an appeal for people to share their memories of Denham.
Construction of a new development at Landmark Place – due to welcome its first homeowners by the end of 2016 – has inspired the housebuilder to pay homage to the area’s history.
The company is encouraging local people to share their cherished pictures of the village from a past era to show how the area has changed.
A framed gallery of memories will then be created in the development, with the winning three entries awarded £50 worth of Marks & Spencer vouchers.
Elaine Stratford, sales and marketing director, said: “We are committed to engaging with the local communities surrounding our developments and we wanted to celebrate the site’s history as we embark on the next phase of its life, providing high-quality, accommodation for those aged over 60.
“As such, we’ll be collecting people’s archives and memories of the area and their time spent here, to display in a framed gallery at the development.”
Those wishing to take part should email their photos, memories and contact details to email@example.com, or post to Past Times in Denham, C/O McCann PR, Communications House, Highlands Road, Shirley, Solihull, West Midlands B90 4WE. Entries should be submitted no later than midnight on March 31 2016.
Landmark Place will comprise 37 one and two bedroom retirement living apartments designed exclusively for the over-60s, with first occupants expected to be welcomed toward the end of 2016.
