Derry on fire claiming victory at Bucks Easter Open
challenge of Milligan.
Both semi finals were outstanding contests, with the Hogan versus Derry clash looking like it would be the pick of the games, but Derry was in outstanding form to comprehensively take the match 4-0, while the other semi saw Lukeman get the better of Humphries.
Both players were in fine form in the final, but it was Derry’s impressive finishing that got him over the line against Lukeman to take the title and prize money.
The ladies’ competition, meanwhile, was won by local player Sarah Mallott, who beat Bucks county player Nicolle Bidgway in the final. Nicky Priest and Vicky McCahey were the losing semifinalists.
The highest outshot winner was Jason Hine, with an effort of 160, while event organiser Andy Long gave thanks to Red Dragon Darts for their sponsorship, to hosts Hazlemere Community Centre and to Sue Long and Paul Tubb for their help and support on the day.
