STUDENTS DANCE AWAY WITH EXAMINATION SUCCESS
TALENTED pupils are jumping for joy after scoring top marks in a national exam.
Pupils at Harmonys School of Dance and Performing Arts, based in Chesham, took their most recent exams with the The British Association of Teachers of Dancing (BATD), the longest running dance association in the UK. Results were ‘outstanding’ with 160 out of 200 exams taken receiving top marks. Principal Harmony-Jayne O’Quinn said: “We at Harmonys pride ourselves with high standards and dedicate our lives to producing students to a professional level that allows them to have very successful careers in the industry.”
Some 16 pupils were left stunned when they received a letter from the BATD stating that the examiner had nominated them for a BATD Scholarship. Candice Bryant, Amber Davies, Hannah Pettit, Elysha Dalton, Zara Tames, Maddisen Eggleton, Caitlin Debbage, Latisha Chapman, Katie-Leigh Birkett, Isobel Snowdon, Leon Chapman, Scarlett Debbage, Lucy Purser, Billie Fisher, Hayley Wilson and Lucie Bolden will all be making their way to Glasgow to compete for the title.
