Fruit trees saved by eco-warrior group
E C O - WA R R I O R S from across Bucks got together recently to save 15 fruit trees.
Parents and children from Chartridge Combined School, volunteers from The River Chess Association and volunteers from Lowndes Community Orchard group joined forces to plant a variety of old and locally indigenous trees in Lowndes Park, Chesham, recently.
The had originally been planned for a new orchard at Chartridge Combined School, but due to construction works the project has been delayed until October.
At the last moment, the Lowndes Community Orchard group stepped in and rescued the trees, finding space for them next to their existing orchard, bringing the total up to 50.
