Chesham Mayor

THERE has been a drive to reinvigorate Chesham Town Council over the last year, increased aspiration to look at what can be done locally and a new willingness to lead on issues affecting our town rather than looking to others to solve our towns’ challenges for us.

As Town Mayor, I strongly believe many services can be delivered better locally and I’m delighted the new Town Council has taken over the duties of verge and hedge cutting from Bucks County Council with the benefit of local knowledge and control.

An additional staff member has been recruited to the grounds maintenance team to help deliver these important local services alongside the valued help from the towns many environmental groups, including Chesham in Bloom, Chesham Environmental Group and the Chiltern Society.

It will take a little time to get fully up to speed with these new duties, but I am confident in our Town Council staff and know they will deliver the high quality service that Chesham residents deserve.

There are still some verges and hedges in Chesham cut by other organisations, including Paradigm Housing, but if you have any comments or want to report an area that needs attention, please contact the Town Council 01494 774842 or by email admin@che
