GETTING RATTY OVER RODENT POPULATION

I know that the old saying is that you are never more than a few feet away from a rat, but if you use the recycling containers that are located by the railway bridge on The Moor as you head into Chesham, then seeing one or two rats running around is now not unusual and on a “good” day you may spot six or seven.

My wife now refuses to get out of the car to help me when I use the recycling facility and I do not blame her.

The council workers who tend the site always do a good clean up job but I think their work is undermined by what appears to be fly tipped black bin liners of food waste which must come from a very busy kitchen.

This area is not too many yards away from Chesham Open Air swimming pool and the adjacent children’s play area.

Rats may be everywhere but do we have to see so many as we head from the picturesque Chess Valley along Waterside into Chesham?
