Chalfont St Giles

RE your article in last week’s Advertiser, councillors back calls for the creation of a unitary system in Buckinghamshire, there is no positive suggestion as to how this could be achieved.

I would have thought that a maximum of 10 councillors, elected for one or max two terms at Bucks County Council would be sufficient.

These 10 councillors would then rule over rural and urban areas and in that way we would all benefit.

Age UK published a fact sheet about bus services in Bucks. 40% of people over 60 use a bus at least once a week. 57% of households are within 13 minute walk of at least an hourly bus service.

Sadly this is not the case here in Chalfont St Giles.

It is my belief that the two tier system is benefiting the political parties not the community.

We need a referendum on this!
