RES­I­DENTS at Chal­font Lodge had a fun day hors­ing around re­cently.

To cel­e­brate the Grand Na­tional staff mem­ber and lo­cal vil­lager Karen Sal­is­bury brought two of her horses in to meet and greet our res­i­dents.

Tammy is a 17.2 hands mare who loved the at­ten­tion of the res­i­dents stroking her nose while Izzy is a Shet­land pony who spent the ma­jor­ity of the time be­ing rid­den by three-year-old Scar­let, the grand­daugh­ter of res­i­dent Trevor An­drew.

Izzy was a per­fect height for Scar­let and even walked her to the car to leave.

For those res­i­dents who were un­able to get out­side Ms Sal­is­bury walked the horses around the perime­ter stop­ping at peo­ple’s win­dows so they could get a glimpse of the ma­jes­tic an­i­mals. The horses were a huge talk­ing point and got the res­i­dents
