A stunning show
DAZZLING daffodils, perfect bakes and a floral feast greeted visitors at a horticultural society’s spring show at the weekend.
Chartridge Horticultural Society’s Spring Show took place at Chartridge Reading Rooms on Saturday.
The event, which is the first show of the society’s calendar, attracted a good amount of entries especially in the daffodil and cookery classes.
The society’s secretary Margaret Curle said: “The daffodils were of the highest quality and as usual the floral displays were beautifully executed.” Two trophies were awarded at the show. The Art Cup was won by Don Sutton, who entered three beautifully made velvet pen holders, and the Chamberlain Trophy, for the most points overall, was awarded to Brian Stewart.
The society’s next display is the Autumn Show, which will be held at the same venue on September 4.
