CONSERVATIVE Jonathan Rush has been co-opted on to Chalfont St Peter parish council.
Mr Rush also sits on Chiltern District Council (CDC), representing Central ward, where he is involved in a number of committees, including being chairman of the licensing and regulation committee.
Following the resignation of Mike Day after 17 months in the role, nominations were sought for his replacement. With Cllr Rush the only candidate, he was co-opted uncontested.
Mr Day cited work and family commitments as reasons for stepping down saying he could no longer commit 100% to his work on the parish council.
County councillor David Martin, Conservative councillor for Chalfont St. Peter division, tweeted his congratulations to the new parish councillor.
Debbie Evans, parish council clerk, said: “We’re extremely pleased to have Jonathan Rush on board.
“We know him and he will be a great asset to the parish council.”
