DANCE students from Chesham performed on a London stage in the West End at the weekend.

The Step to it Dance Academy, based in Chesham, performed at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London on Sunday.

More than 30 children aged between five and 18 took part in a variety performance called First Class with other dance schools from across the UK.

Schools were allowed to choreograph any piece that they wanted.

Step to it Dance Academy chose the Wizard of Oz, which saw students perform in three six minute sections. The performance included the characters of Dorothy, Tin Man, Scarecrow, Lion, the Wicked Witch of the West and of course the Munchkins.

Principal Nikki VannMorris said: “As their principal I am extremely proud of all their hard work and dedication over the last few months.

“They were absolutely amazing and their performance was full of vitality and energy. It was a wonderful opportunity to dance on a West End stage where the Phantom of the Opera is currently on.”
