Smashing time for all visitors to tennis club
‘Fantastic’ open day sees people join the Dukes Wood programme
A GERRARDS Cross tennis club celebrated some new additions with a ‘fantastic’ open day recently.
Dukes Wood, which has recently managed to secure two new coaches and installed some new floodlights, held the day on Saturday to commemorate the special occasion.
While the intermittent weather may have held some people back from attending, head coach Tom Dean said that everybody who turned up ‘liked what they saw’ and have either joined the programme or the club.
He added: “It went well and the weather could have been better, but we had everyone who came down to look to join up, which was fantastic.”
He said that everyone who was there ‘just wished it had been a bit warmer’.
Mr Dean also hailed the new coaches, who stayed behind afterwards to play a game of doubles, despite the fact they did not need to stay.
“I did say they could go home. It was fantastic to see,” he added.
