Coach Williams salutes title-winning A&C players

Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - SPORT -

perspective, last season was my first as a coach and this has been the first with what I would call my own squad. I’m hoping to retain most of it, but we will have to strengthen too and we’ve been preparing for promotion since January or February.

“We’re losing Zane Turner back to New Zealand and that is a route we hope to explore again. Zane won’t be playing for us but he might be able to help with recruitment by endorsing us back home. We will look closer to home to start with though.”

The result at Barking was never in doubt, with two tries from Sam Portland and one each from Joe Butler and Andy Fluker giving Chiltern the bonus point they needed inside the first 15 minutes.

Butler’s second was followed by a Sam Handford effort, and when Turner ran in the final try of the first half in his final game, he was mobbed by his team-mates. Portland and Butler both completed their hat-trick after the break, while Jordan Scott, Aaron Doyle and Andy Zair rounded off the scoring.
