Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - LONDON MARATHON -

TWO Bucks men have completed the London Marathon and managed to raise thousands of pounds for an asthma charity.

Dan Schofield left), 26, of Beaconsfield, and Lee Copley (right), 44, of Amersham, raised a total of £3,000 for Asthma UK by taking part in the run on Sunday, April 24.

Mr Schofield, who has asthma, finished the 26.2 mile challenge in four hours and 16 minutes, while Mr Copley ran it in five hours and 15 minutes.

Kerry Johns, head of events and community fundraising at Asthma UK, said; “I’d like to say a big thank you and congratulation to Dan and Lee for running the London Marathon for us.

“Every 10 seconds, someone has a potentially life threatening asthma attack in the UK, which is why we fund research to help develop new treatments and ultimately a cure for asthma.

“We are solely funded by public donations, so we simply wouldn’t be able to continue with out work without people like Dan and Lee and our team of fantastic runners.”
