SELLING OFF LAND WILL LEAD TO FUTURE ISSUES

Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - OPINION -

HEATHER POMROY Chalfont St Peter

I was concerned to read that Bucks County Council are to sell off land resided on by traveller groups.

This will surely lead to serious problems in the future.

The land is owned by the public and its use managed by the county council. This is at it should be and helps to prevent illegal squatting which causes hardships and distress for all.

The land could be sold on to unscrupulous landowners who may flout land-use restrictions and infringe on the rights of neighbouring landowners and the public alike.

The land is our land and its use protects both the travelling community and the general public. I would ask the county council to think again.

This is short term gain for long term pain.
