GREEN fingered villagers braved the weather to head to a flower show.

Seer Green Gardeners held their annual Spring Flower Show on Saturday, April 16, which displayed a number of floral exhibits, domestic produce and children’s artwork.

The event was held for the first time at Seer Green Baptist Church, and visitors were greeted by a display of colourful pictures produced by youngsters at the Seer Green Church of England School.

Philip Newton of the group said: “It was pleasing to see an increase in the number of visitors to the show. Interestingly, several villagers who entered the show for the first time walked away with first prizes.

“Hopefully this will encourage even more people to participate in future shows. Exhibiting really is a great deal of fun and a lovely way to celebrate the life of our village.”

The group’s next event is a plant sale to be held on May 14 at the Baptist Church Hall from 10am until 12pm.
