Cheer­lead­ers, Pikachu, and Min­nie Mouse join school’s fun run

Stu­dents from year groups seven, eight and nine took part, plus elite run­ners from older year groups, raced on Fri­day April 29.

Last year the race raised £2,300, and the funds will go towards re­plac­ing the floor­ing in the main school hall.

Town Crier, Dick Smith, and Mayor, John Read, started the run­ners off at the Hall Barn Es­tate.

School ad­min­is­tra­tor Chris­tine Thomas said the school is are very priv­i­leged and thank­ful to Hall Barn Es­tate that they al­low this an­nual fun run.

She added: “It was fan­tas­tic, apart from the weather - we had four sea­sons in one day. The sun, hail, rain and we even had thun­der.

“All in all it went re­ally well.”

Some of the stu­dents even ran in fancy dress. The win­ners were Grace Hud­son, Year eight, who fin­ished in 23 min­utes and Al­fie Jago, Year 10, whose win­ning time was 18.50.

The win­ning staff mem­ber was Ce­cilie Gian­neri, with 25.52.
